How much can you lose before your prop account fails?
Pick your firm and plan, type your balances, and see today's loss room, the balance that fails you, and the biggest trade that stays inside both limits.

Eight firms at $100K, side by side
Evaluation rules for each firm's main plan. A soft limit pauses your trading for the session. It does not fail the account.

Rules that fail accounts
Most failed challenges break a limit, not a strategy. These are the ones traders misread.
Trailing floors only move up
At Topstep, Apex, Tradeify and Take Profit Trader the floor follows your highest balance. A good morning raises the floor under a bad afternoon.
End-of-day and intraday trailing are different risks
Apex sells both with the same $3,000. End-of-day moves the floor once, after the close. Intraday follows your peak live, including profit you never closed.
Take Profit Trader changes the rule when you pass
The Test trails at end of day. The funded PRO account trails intraday on your peak, open profit included.
A soft daily limit does not protect the account
Topstep's optional $2,000, Apex EOD's $1,500 and Tradeify Growth's $2,500 only pause you. The drawdown floor still fails you.
The5ers $100K is 4% and 8%
Many guides still quote 5% daily and 10% maximum. On the official page that applies only to the $2.5K to $25K sizes.
Big days raise your target
At Topstep and Take Profit Trader one huge day means you must earn more in total. Tradeify Select is stricter: no day over 40% of your profit.
Firm not listed?
Paste the limits section of any firm's rules page. RuleRoom reads the daily loss, maximum drawdown and profit target percentages and loads them as a custom plan. The text stays in your browser.
How we check the rules
Every preset was read from the firm's official rules or help pages on 8 November 2026, and each plan links to its source. Firms change rules without notice, so confirm on the firm's page before you trade.
Apex blocks visitors from some countries, so its rules came from its help-centre text and match several independent guides. Tradeify lists a 4:45 PM ET close-out in its help centre, while its blog says 4:59 PM. RuleRoom uses 4:45 PM.
Older guides are often wrong. FTMO no longer has 30 and 60-day limits or 10 minimum days. Topstep's daily limit is optional, and Take Profit Trader has no daily limit at all.
RuleRoom Co-pilot is coming
The calculator answers one moment. The Co-pilot watches every account all session and tells you before a limit does.
- Live floors for every account in one view
- An alert, then a lockout, before you hit a limit
- A weekly AI review of where you lose money
- No signals and no trade calls
